Teaching

 

Nancy fell in love with the piano when very young and has decades of experience to pass on to pupils of all ages and abilities. Lessons are held at her Bristol studio where her pupils have the opportunity to learn on a Kawai grand piano. They consistently achieve excellent results in ABRSM graded exams, with many earning distinctions. However, Nancy’s primary goal is to help her pupils bring the music to life, fostering their creative expression and artistic development in a fun and supportive environment.

 

The benefits of learning a musical instrument, particularly the piano, are numerous. In the young it can enhance fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while for older adults it can boost levels of Human Growth Hormone and help slow the effects of aging. You can expect a sharpened intellect, a physical workout, relief from stress, improved self esteem, and the development of transferable skills all the while discovering an extraordinary wealth of repertoire.

 

In addition to her degrees, Nancy holds an LTCL diploma in piano performance. Whilst at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire she has engaged in Katharine Lam’s Piano Pedagogy classes as well as an essential programme exploring performance anxiety. Nancy is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the UK’s professional body for musicians. She has an enhanced DBS certificate which is available to view on request.
